Celebrating the allure of opera, young musicians and singers from prestigious Universities in Europe and Turkey collaborate in artistic workshops culminating in a series of performances staging the fresh and exciting Italian opera "The secret marriage" by the great Italian composer Domenico Cimarosa. The energy of youth, the richness of cultures and the universal language of music all come together in a Euro-Mediterranean partnership from Italy, Turkey, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Poland and Portugal that will touch the hearts of the audience.
ARTISTIC WORKSHOPS
Talented young musicians and singers taking part in the activity, participated in master classes and rehearsals to study this opera in all its musical aspects. They have also shared human, cultural and musical experiences to forge cooperation between the new generations, which is one of the aims of the activity for a long lasting intercultural dialogue among youth fostering the development of the musical arts in Turkey and in Europe. These workshops will also continue in 2010 in Italy and the Czech Republic with a focus on chamber music and instrument master classes. One of the main objectives of the workshops and the activity is to help young artists on the way to their professional growth through the exchange of cultural, national and regional experiences.
PERFORMANCES
"Il matrimonio segreto" is very suitable to be staged at music festivals and will be touring in Turkey during the summer of 2009. A further performance will take place in the summer of 2010 in Prague in the Czech Republic. The freshness of the performers and the opera itself will charm thousands of opera fans, showcasing intercultural dialogue through the arts. The performance will also be aired on the radio transmissions of the EBU network to reach over one million people. The 6 singers and the orchestra, composed of 35 musicians, are conducted by M° Damiano Giuranna, President of Musica Europa.
